A comeback Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former trainer his previous coach.

Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Success also means Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in that event previously this season.

His counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, supported by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game break points in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
